The Jesters After Lately Donna Hay: Fast, Fresh, SimpleThe JestersMovie Extra, 8.30pmThere are laughs to be had as TV comedy legend Dave Davies (Mick Molloy) invites the Jesters to spend the weekend at his country retreat and tax write-off. Turns out Davies likes to unwind by driving golf balls at shooting-range targets to which he has affixed photographs of TV critics ("Cop that, Idato! Who's 'bordering on the banal' now?"). Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Phillip Adams make amusing cameo appearances (Adams sends himself up wonderfully as Davies' nosy neighbour). After LatelyE!, 11pmChelsea Handler stars in this new sitcom/mockumentary spinoff of her own comedy talk show, Chelsea Lately (E!, 10.30pm). Handler plays herself as a cruel and capricious tyrant who treats her staff like dirt and will happily crush their egos and dreams on the merest whim. The staff are little better, constantly bitching, backbiting and undermining each other. If you've seen any of those scripted "behind the scenes" skits on Chelsea Lately you'll know what to expect - lots of cruelty, juvenile vulgarity and general obnoxiousness. Handler is an acquired taste but, once acquired, oddly pleasing.Donna Hay: Fast, Fresh, SimpleLifeStyle, 8.30pmHay's "cheat's trifle" looks pretty good. Other dishes tonight include a goat's-cheese "cheat's souffle", a Thai-inspired chicken noodle salad and barbecued lamb and eggplant with halloumi. Instructions are clear and simple.
